Let's Talk Efficiency
The use of Copeland Scroll compressors in lieu of older style reciprocating compressors for example, makes a big difference in operating cost, reliability and longevity.
Reciprocating compressors, having pistons moving up and down, a crankshaft, intake and exhaust valves and connecting rods, are subject to stresses and wear potential similar to their cousin, the automobile engine.
A scroll compressor on the other hand has a scroll head similar to a centrifugal pump impeller that only travels in one plane of motion to achieve compression. Scroll compressors have no up and down movement or intake valves and tend to wear in, as opposed to wear out.

Dual Stage Equipment
When you think about it, you only need the full heating or cooling capacity of any comfort system on the very coldest or the very warmest of days.
So it makes sense to be able to provide variable capacity from comfort equipment, particularly if it saves on operating costs.
Copland UltraTech™ two stage scroll compressors differ from two speed reciprocating compressors which use a second motor winding tap to accomplish motor speed control.
During 1st stage of operation, an UltraTech™ compressor passes refrigerant only 60% of the way through the two stage scroll head. In this mode, the unit produces enough heating capacity to satisfy the homes requirement during less severe days of the winter. As less work is done, electricity consumption is reduced by about 35%.
During 2nd stage operation the UltraTech™ compressor passes refrigerant all the way through the scroll head, thus operating at full capacity on the colder days of the winter.
Typical unit sizing results in by far the majority of the heating hours being served by Stage 1, so the overall result for the customer is a lower heating cost than is possible with single stage geothermal units.
Rehau PEX Heating Systems
Originating in Rehau Germany, Rehau PEX (cross linked polyethylene), piping systems are made from Type A PEX. Type A PEX uses the Engle Manufacturing Method to produce the optimum mix of strength and flexibility available in a PEX pipe.
Rehau manufactures a complete line of PEX plumbing systems and accessories suitable for Radiant Floor Heating, (RFH), and domestic water service. Rehau accessories and hardware are arguably the best on the market for quality and durability.
Just Geothermal Systems is an Authorized Contractor for Rehau piping systems. We specialize in RFH coupled to Geothermal Systems.
We provide our own heating and cooling load calculations and we provide RFH design using Rehau WarmSource RFH Design software.
Coupled with reversible water to water geothermal systems, we provide RFH heating along with chilled water cooling through either conventional or high pressure ductwork systems.
